Kashrut

Star-K certified, and it shows in how we run the kitchen

We’re Star-K certified fleishig (meat), under supervision that covers ingredients, equipment, preparation and service — not just a certificate on the wall. Vegan and vegetarian dishes are prepared in their own area, on their own equipment.

Our story

A food truck, a family, and four years before the doors opened

Yossef brings the technique — patient, no-shortcuts falafel and hummus. Hana cooks from memory, not a recipe card. Their daughter Alona pushes the menu forward without losing the point of it. Four years of running a truck around the Baltimore Jewish community built the following that filled the Foundry Row counter.

“Food should feel welcoming. That there should be something for everyone at the table.”

Good to know

Questions we get a lot

Is everything at Yossef’s Laffa-Milia kosher?

Yes. We’re Star-K certified fleishig (meat), under kosher supervision that covers ingredients, equipment, preparation and service. Vegan and vegetarian dishes are made in separate areas with their own equipment. Full detail on our Kashrut page.

Can I order online for pickup or delivery?

Yes — use the Order Now button at the top of the site for pickup or delivery, including DoorDash. You can also call the shop directly at (443) 340-8335.

Do you do catering?

Yes, for offices, events and simchas across the Baltimore area. See our Catering page or send us the details and we’ll get back to you.

Are there vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free options?

Yes. A meat-focused menu doesn’t mean an afterthought for everyone else — we keep real vegan and vegetarian dishes in regular rotation, prepared on separate equipment, and many of our plant-based dishes are naturally gluten-free.
